On netbeans use to only have one line below, but for some reason it keeps calling the h2 database. So ended up using the second code below.

from

<persistence-unit name="BANA" transaction-type="JTA" />

to

    <persistence-unit name="BANA" transaction-type="JTA">
        <provider>org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence</provider>
        <jta-data-source>java:jboss/datasources/BANAL</jta-data-source>
        <properties>
            <property name="hibernate.show_sql" value="true" />
            <property name="hibernate.dialect" value="org.hibernate.dialect.SQLServerDialect" />
            <property name="hibernate.archive.autodetection" value="class" />
            <property name="hibernate.cache.provider_class" value="org.hibernate.cache.NoCacheProvider" />
        </properties>
    </persistence-unit>
