Setup WordPress on AWS (Amazon Web Service) using putty

Move files from local to AWS

1. pscp -i c:\temp\privateKey.ppk c:\temp\vet.sql awsUser@51.21.1.8:/home/awsUser
Run Putty

1. putty -i c:\temp\privateKey.ppk awsUser@51.21.1.8:/home/awsUser

Grant Mysql Access to Database

1. grant all privileges on newDBName.* to ‘newuser’@’localhost’ identified by ‘newpassword’;
2. use mysql;
3. select user, host, password from user;

Unzip files and move to /var/www/html

1. unzip veteran.zip
2. sudo rm -rf /var/www/html/*
3. sudo cp -r ./* /var/www/html
4. sudo vim /var/www/html/wp-config.php
4a. vim basic commands
4b. x to delete char on cursor
4c. i to insert
4d. esc back to default mode
4e. h-left j-down k-up l-right
4f. :wq – save file

5. change config db settings
